Nike sponsors individuals and events too numerous to mention. They are often not the title sponsor, but contribute in some way.
An example is the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, with link below.

What doesn't Nike sponsor? Small track meets - Stanford invitational, Nike Indoor classic marathons, Bauer Hockey - Jarome Inginla, Basketball, - Lebron James

Who cares. This is a company that sold out to commercialism. They make Billions of dollars because people want to wear the logo. If you want to really be a part of something wear your Nike's to your local fun run for hunger. Better yet send Nike a picture of you in your Nike's at the run for hunger and ask them to contribute.
