I've seen some pretty big medals from marathons in the US (Little Rock marathon in particular). I've heard rumours of a glass medal somewhere, can't remember where... I'm willing to travel anywhere to run if the medal makes it worth it!

I have done 2 marathons and many other races. Detroit has pretty cool marathon medals but there are many out there. They are all cool. I ran a half in nashvile and it was in the shape of a note. I ran a half in HELL michigan and it was a skull..... lots of medals out there but I guess it really isnt the medal that is important its the accomplishment that you did to get the medal.

DUDE! It has to be Boston. The most talked about marathon in the WORLD. If you get a medal from there everyone knows about it!
THE BAA logo is so cool!
PS the glass medal (oxymoron) is the Glass City Marathon and it is really a Plexiglas medallion.

I'm with you, it's all about the medal! Detroit used to have a cool one, the one they gave out this year is pretty standard. Kentucky gives out a cool one in the shape of a horseshoe (since it's the Derby Festival)
On the other side, Chicago really cheaps out on theirs
